How to kill self-doubt

How to kill self-doubt

I just listened to an amazing podcast. It was so good that I had to keep pausing and re-listening to it so that I could really listen and digest what they were saying - I couldn't take notes fast enough! I now have 9 pages of A4 filled with a goldmine of information and ideas, and I thought it might be nice to share my key takeaways with you. So, let's get into it...

Nurture the idea

Nurture the idea

How many times have you had a fabulous idea and immediately squashed it with doubt, negativity and fear - or the imagined (or real) voices of others telling you that it would never take off, or that the market is flooded, or that there are already millions of people out there doing exactly the same thing and we don't need another book/ invention/ / yoga teacher/ YouTube channel/ cook book - or whatever it is that you dreamed up? I know I have, many many times! Well, I am here to tell you that we need your ideas...

Stress (and 10 ideas on how to manage it)

Stress (and 10 ideas on how to manage it)

Stress is our body’s natural response to challenges and it can serve us in certain situations. Now and again stress can prove useful but it should not be our resting state. Our bodies are absolutely incredible but they were not made to experience stress consistently over an extended period of time. If we do experience stress consistently, it can often start to manifest in the body through illness and disease (dis-ease - as in 'not at ease').

Let It Go Day

So, what is 'Let It Go Day' and did Amy make it up? No, I didn't make it up, it's a real thing believe it or not! 'If you don't quit, you win'

'If you don't quit, you win'

This week I have been constantly been reminded of a quote I heard recently from Alex Hormozi: 'If you don't quit, you win.' It's an interesting one for me because it's not obvious and if I didn't stop to think about it for a minute, I would probably disagree with it - you don't always win when you don't quit, right? The thing is, you do!

Perspective is everything

Perspective is everything

What’s interesting about this to me is that nothing about her immediate situation had changed. She had still woken up in the night. She was still tired. She still had to get ready and go to school. The things she had to do this morning were still the same thing she had to do every morning, but that tiny piece of information changed her whole perspective on the day immediately. It gave her energy. It gave her motivation. It changed how she was feeling and how she approached her day. It changed how she moved and how she acted. Perspective is everything!

A Leap of Faith

A Leap of Faith

2024 is a Leap Year and the Leap Year got me thinking about other leaps, like leaps of faith. A leap of faith is when you do something, even though you are not sure it will be successful. You launch yourself into the unknown. It can be super scary because we don’t know for sure how it will turn out, but it can also be super exciting. And it’s a great way to grow. The things I feel are big leaps of faith for me, might be things you do every day.

What are you consuming?

What are you consuming?

what are you giving your energy and attention to every day? The media we consume plays a profound role in shaping our perspectives, beliefs, and overall well-being. From the news we watch to the content we scroll through on social media, every byte of information leaves an imprint on our minds and souls. What we consume can impact our mental, emotional, and spiritual states, plus we are exchanging our most valuable asset - our time - for it, so we need to make sure it's worthy of that.

My 2024 (re-)reading list

My 2024 (re-)reading list

One thing I’ve decided to do this year is dedicate more time to studying. I read a lot and I love it. I like it because it focuses my attention and keeps me away from screens(!). For the past few years, most of my reading has been non-fiction. I love to learn new things and I find reading a really great way to learn and expand my mind. If you’re looking for some reading (or listening) inspiration this year, here are some books I’ve studied that I go back to over and over again...

The Power of Focus!

The Power of Focus!

Putting all of your focus and energy on one thing at a time is so incredibly powerful and so much more effective than multitasking. Neville Goddard said: “We are only limited by weakness of attention and poverty of imagination.” Think about that for a minute. I interpret that to mean that by stretching our imagination and using the power of focus, we can achieve great things. Here's how the power of focus has helped me...
