A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants lie down and are enveloped in soothing sounds produced by crystal singing bowls. The experience is often described as being "bathed" in sound, promoting relaxation and healing.
A Reiki-infused sound bath is a holistic healing experience that combines the practices of Reiki energy healing with the therapeutic benefits of a traditional sound bath.
Reiki-infused sound baths with crystal singing bowls use sound, vibration, and intention to gently transition individuals from their normal waking state of consciousness (beta) to deeply relaxed states (theta).
The sound vibrations from the crystal singing bowls can improve nervous system function, leading to muscle relaxation, regulated breathing, a slower heart rate, and a calmer mind. In these relaxed states, the body’s innate healing abilities become more effective, restoring optimal vibrational alignment and enhancing overall health and well-being.
Benefits may include deeper relaxation, stress and anxiety relief, improved focus and clarity, better sleep patterns, and the potential for healing and altered states of consciousness.
As with all modalities, results vary from person to person and we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes.
By car: The postcode of the venue is CR8 2BW. There is free street parking available outside the venue.
Public transport: If you are arriving by train, the venue is an 11 minute walk from Purley Train station and just a few minutes walk from the nearest bus stop on the Brighton Road.
During a sound bath, bowls will be played to encourage a deep state of relaxation where a person’s own healing abilities may be activated.
You may experience deep relaxation, emotional release, and even sensations like floating or tingling. Many participants report tension relief, improved mood and better sleep for days following the session. The sounds help slow brain waves and promote a dreamlike state of consciousness, so some people also see dreamlike images.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you feel relaxed in. You may wish to bring warm socks (depending on the weather) as you will be removing your shoes.
Yes, we do! (For up to 12 people)
Just bring yourself, a bottle of water and an open mind!
Sound baths are suitable for most people, from teenagers to elders, however, your health and safety come first!
If you are affected by any of the following, you must consult with a medical professional prior to booking or attending any sound bath sessions: epilepsy; pregnancy; mental health diagnosis; implants, pacemakers, or metal plates in the body; recent surgeries, cancer diagnosis (this list is not exhaustive, if you have any doubts, please consult with your doctor prior to booking).
Some bowls give off very high or very low-pitched sounds. If you believe that these objects and the sounds they make may cause discomfort, pain, or injury, please let me know via email (amy@threelittlebirdsofficial.com) before the session.
The majority of experiences are very positive, some participants may also feel emotional releases or experience detox-like symptoms after a session.
Staying hydrated and resting when you feel you need to post-session is recommended.
You can attend sound baths as frequently as you would like to based on your own individual needs and preferences. Many benefit from regular sessions as part of their self-care routine.
(I personally experience sound baths most days!)
I use crystal singing bowls in my sessions, which I charge with Reiki.
Different sound practitioners may use different instruments including Tibetan bowls, gongs, bells, and various percussion instruments. Each instrument contributes unique frequencies that promote relaxation and healing.
Much like musicians, each sound practitioner will also have their own style of playing and so each sound bath is different and unique.
Listen to your body; if lying down doesn't feel right, you can sit up, turn over, lie on your side or make other light movements to find comfort.
It is recommended to use the bathroom before the session starts but if you need to use the bathroom during the session, go! We just ask that you are quiet, considerate and mindful of the other participants when moving about the room or using the facilities.
The goal is to create an environment where you feel safe and relaxed.
