Hello my friend!
How are you today?
Last 90 Dayers, how is it going?! Drop me an email to let me know!
I just listened to an amazing podcast. It was so good that I had to keep pausing and re-listening to it so that I could really listen and digest what they were saying - I couldn't take notes fast enough!
I now have 9 pages of A4 filled with a goldmine of information and ideas, and I thought it might be nice to share my key takeaways with you.
So, let's get into it...
Self-doubt is a mental state where a person feels uncertain or indecisive about beliefs, actions, or abilities. It is about lack and limitation and it can create a barrier to taking action due to fear of making mistakes or failing.
Self-doubt is a low energy/ low vibrational feeling. It depletes our energy and it does not serve us.
We are not born doubting, we are trained into it!
It is a programme in our mind that tells us that we are not good enough and not worthy enough.
Why do we think that? Because we have radically accepted this wrong idea about ourselves!
Why did we radically accept this wrong idea? Because we have never been taught how to THINK - we have never been taught how our mental faculties work, we have never been taught how to accept and reject ideas.
And - the programme is programmed to defend its operating system!
This defective mental programming has an inbuilt mechanism to defend itself. When we attempt to do something new or different, it wants to keep us in our comfort zone where it thinks we are 'safe.'
The effects of self-doubt are many; indecision, overthinking, imposter syndrome, people pleasing, feelings of worry, anxiety and fear, procrastination, low self esteem and thoughts that you are not worthy or not enough.
People don't have a confidence issue, they have a doing issue!
Those who say that they have 'lost confidence' never had confidence to begin with! They were letting the result dictate if they were confident of not. When the result changed, they changed their opinion of themselves.
Confidence is about DOING. It is built through deliberate practice and repetition. The more we repeat an action, the better we get.
Take driving as an example. In the beginning it feels hard, complicated and overwhelming. Over time and with practice, it becomes a programme that is ingrained in your mind. Eventually your automatic mind takes over and the action becomes effortless - THAT is confidence!

Wishing you every success - always,
